April 20th - 2014

breakfast was disjoint.because some of the cooks were wounded there was no pressure.we fell out of bed hosed our smoky bodies down got dressed and went to see why jemma was hollering .there was no murder she was just greeting the sun.we did sausage bacon potatoes red chili and any egg not previously boiled.ashley and her bunch went for a hike. they tooksalma and shelby. logan got a new gun,so he and joe and anthony and  i went to checkout prarie dogs. chris ike and zach rode out to ranch where paul and terri ,tim and cathy were holding fort. don't know any specifics about eating there.do know bikes were involved with the work . around noon the russels showed then zach and carmen. zach and anthony logan and jesse dug up the meat. we had lamb and pig and cow and a lowly turkey with a pot of beans.family started dribbling in. niki,jay and the beauties were there to represent our oldest sister. she was fleamarket shopping some where up north.we missed her. gene came. [supplied grand ma s' goodies ]carmen , zach ,lish and girls[ long dresses and earing s ] tim and cath  [ with danno crying over phone ] rich janie brandon ,megan , and kids. paul and terri .marie gary reggie,miloand odin, ike,dhanniell ,kyler ,and weed,mando,nita, and izaiah. pat and al marquise,hondo josh crystal and annalieze. no toni except in heart. chris and pam. maggie, wade and jordan ed ,kota.ed and mardee. ed and cindy and kitty. ashley tate and theo. that old pit did its thing and those girls our sisters ,wives daughters, cousins friend and lovers did the rest. we celebrated the rising of christ. maybe not in so many words . but we did and we shared that one more time together.special because who we are ,when we are and what our parents want us to be

  490 eggs and facsimiles there of were placed on less than an acre of land. skilled finders of the ovum age 6 mo to 12yr attacked the yrd with zeal. 16 hunters in all. marie did her best grand ma gutierrez imatation  gina played marie, and they handed out treasures to the approval of the hunters.as always time runs out a nd friends and and family retreat to their own world.

April 6th - 2014

 sunday here again. beth and her 2 arrived yesterday. so we brought them out to feed . gary was in high gear by the time we got there . he and marie had spent the night .[ swimming around the hot tub ] after a day of cleaning and watering and such. chris and zach were there trying to figure what tags were on what cows. and excited to be in the 60's. grub was on, corn tortillas, green chili, sausage ,bacon and eggs. a little smattering of sandys' red. silly kids ate cheerios . lilly gabby, and jax took the side by side for a cruise . while beth and zach saddled  .chris and i rotated my daughters tire s. cheash!  think she needs an alignment.

   pretty soon beth riding in with calf over her saddle.  she left the calf and head back to help zach.  after some cowboying , a decision to bring in the heard was made and once in the corral calf and mom were reunited. chris worked his magic and told the calf where t suck and how. no amount of deterrent  was going to keep the calf away now. cow boys head back out to check the big herd.  when we caught up  beth and zach  were like cats in the hen  house , grinning ear to ear.  they had tagged 4 . 2 too wet to stand.they were pretty proud of themselves. zach only got almost eaten once .and not by the mamma but some bystander cow that came to the rescue. 

  we got beth home[to ranch house] and baby sally had put herself asleep after a fashion. did not think milk should be in a bottle. we headed back to grants zach and chris headed back to the pasture. in an effort to find one them new dangle communicators that "fell" from zachs pocket.

  all quiet, from plischs. erin and jammer, went to madison for the weekend. jim put in his week and mary into the breech. then the florida crowd in a week . deanna got her back  injected haven't heard any results yet.

April 13th - 2014

we are still waiting for that rain we are suppose to get. made our way to the ranch today  knowing marie was up north[ again] gpa atencio had never seen hulk odin in action. so this was the time. word has it he got his first pin last week. guess that practice with uncle chris paid off. got to the ranch and carmen had the fire going . sandy chimed in and did sausage and some green chili. zach and crew showed and while carmen and sandy cooked we split to feed critters. then gathered round coffee pot for gossip. seems ikey bought a new bike that all but pedals itself, uncle chris has new cleats , carmens new dog did in 2 chickens brought one in the house to give to carmen. it was pretty proud to protect it master.bro pat has ingrown toe nails ; had to put him in the hospital to get things tuned up some. may have bought himself the green bottle. certainly not happy as his reward for trying to clean up seem s to be punishment. janie and rich are up in chicago . nelia couldn't stand to have him limp by himself she wore a hole in her heel be fore they left. put a little spit and band aide and off she went.  toni has decided to celebrate sibling day.  thought that was good, lord knows we need a reason to celebrate .

  speaking of siblings where were you guys today? couldn't find a sib or child or niece or nephew. [ or indian or wet ] had to throw my bride into  the pit. 2 burns worth! made sure we didn't tamp those bags too tight. was thinking of ways to low rider the truck.  we managed.  will pit sat  night .ashley and crew want to  come throw sticks in the fire. cann't fool me i know her dad its an excuse to drink wine. beth and joe plan on stirring coals too.  more important only 1 week left to show your kid what an egg looks like.[ zach has to wear a blindfold] I've counted up 13 hunter s and a goose egg. hope grand ma sends the right stuff!

    of major importance is newborn quilt . as you know the first born to a family is to be the recipient of this here quilt . we are starting to push for squares for tanyas munster.some expedience would be appreciated as the puter together person gets stressed  [ and i have to live with her].

    plisch bunch keeping grand ma going. marysent me pic s of red feet i thought they were moms . no hers with all her runnig around mary got some stasis. barry will get there at the beginning of the week.mom stillhaveing feet aches . her wrist cleaned up but she is not wanting to treat cheek or temple . and she is pretty sure about that! hey guess if i screw along  long enough any thing can happen ; its raining

well had a sat. from hell.wind 100 mph half of nm in the air.sunday was calm and quiet to start. chris was out before we got there. had his horse gathered and was heading out to check the heifers. i did chickens and cats and feeder calf and snuck the the horses a flake or 2. sandy went in to start breakfast. marie up north cheering odin on in his wrestling. zach took his girls ed and kota grandma carmen to denver to visit michael and family. here after will be known as saint zach. ike stayed home to his wifes' aging . mag and jordan showed and finished the eggs and sausage. we did a baby pot for the diminutive crowd. chris going to check the rest of his flock 34 on the ground .3lost calves one mamma he did a miracle graft  with a mamma that lost hers and the calf that lost the momma.

  at kgbar we have one calf . it is the fence crawl ingest  ever. she comes and goes at will. cassie brought a casey home big nice ole boy. it is his bday today along with dhanielle. cassie and casey are on spring break . they may show up wherever .

   up in wausau grandma was doing left over spagetti. that kathy making her clean the fridge. erin busy keeping all the boo boos clean .jim recooping from his surgery better.up and walking sharing meals with mom and kath. mary making sure all the holes are plugged. jim going to do 1st week between kathy and barry mary and dennis the 2nd.  so those bases are covered.  easter will be at my house the 20th. haven't heard any plans other wise . mom appointed gene to get chocalate bunnies.[i will remind him]  haven't talked about it but what is easter without a pitt. will try to order leaves on the trees for then . o, branding 31st of may.

March 9th - 2014

a brisk nm morning. painfully early cause of daylight savings. we drove in behind the bikers. as chris and zach knocked icicles from their beards ike did frozen boogers . they started out with h2o bottles and got here thirsty cause the bottles froze. now those boys are tuff! marie was off do her penace for us [income tax]. thanx wee! carmen and sandy manned the stove . breakfast enchilada and sausage and bacon made up main coarse . blueberry muffins for the sweet. lish was with plague ,so the little girls were the entertainment.

   woodenberrys' showed,jordan got 1st for her division science fair in regionals. mag pissed bought income tax cause wade pretty well roping this year.[thats mag all her children doing good]. rana got best  teacher in her school district. and better late  than never i missed phoenix s' 2nd place in jr quad for his age group. ike and zach saddled and went calving .pushing 20 on the ground.  ed and friend rode 4wheeler[ on the road] to check pasture. chris and kota ground hay for supplement. jordan and kota took side by side to feed. wade and chris hooked up truck to pick up riders and preg check a heifer.

  granma plisch has kathy jumping through hoops. wants to quit this or that or eat only this and not so much of that. thank god i have erin up there or we would never get those sores dressed. grandma sounded good or at least in control . the mean daughters make her eat to much. need to thank bill felix . susan  brought her hand me down furniture for beth. they made a day of it. bill out boredom and knowing my patience put in sandys' new dishwasher. we could n't run it for a week cause it might leak. finally got a load through, it worked! small pleasures.

Feb 23rd - 2014

 good breakfast, marie and gary nita and isaiah were testing houses. they decided the big house was where it was at. gary and and isaiah did the chickens checked the horses  fed a cow . sandy and marie  started eggs found green chili stew made burritos . lish and girls wandered in. geranium apparently  got best player award. lish said she played yesterday and it even looked like basketball game! eddie wrestled at state  gary  said he did well but  didn't get out. gpa atencio is his geatest fan. jordan had a game friday and looked good , but most importantly at science fair  won her division, got a letter, won the maxwell award, and a few bucks on the side.

    the biggest thing however is chris and ike got zach back on his bike. took them an hour and a half , but they made it in. of coarse there was significant whining about not having enough protein for breakfast. chris went and raided the bacon factory.  chris working hard at working hard! 

  o, the san antonio part of the family shelby [and her cousin jade] had their hair cut and donated them to " locks of love ". an organization the makes wigs for cancer survivors . both girls had 10 inches cutoff. they sent post pics and they look good. and they are very proud of themselves. sandy and i went out and fed the cows. she went with me to mass and went in to coma, i had to wake her to carry her out. didn't even make the homily!
